Probably use OT rules and stone you. If it ever goes the way the dubs say, there will be no disagreements on the other side either.

Being a JW, you never really had any friends. You might have had people to do certain things with not pertaining to WT issues, if female you might have gone shopping, if male, we would play basketball on Friday nights. I was always considered a trouble maker because I would question things and push as far as I could. While I was called "brother", I knew these people were not friends. While still in, I met non dubs and made friends with some of these. Most I met at work. We could go fishing, hunting, play sports and go to concerts. After I left, it was easy to see who your friends were, as you are now aware also. In my case, I don't want a long list of friends, just a few people to do things with, but be able to count on them when I need something. One of the guys I hunt with told his wife that if anything ever happened to him, to call me. I would know what to do, and for her to do what I said. I have known him for eight years, have been friends for about five. That is what friendship is, he trusts me to do what he would do if he was not able. To advise his wife on anything, because he knows me so well and trusts me. You do not need many friends like that, just a few are fine.
You have been given many good suggestions from other posters, try some of the ones you feel comfortable with. You will meet people, some as aquaintances, maybe some will become true friends. Make sure you know the difference, and as already been said, you have to be a friend back. It will be a learning experience, enjoy. I wish you success.

Baptised and on this or other apostate sites - DF'ing Offense???
by cognac injust wondering if you can be in a jc for being on apostate sites.
i'm not talking about if you clicked on something by mistake.
does it say it in the elders book?.

An elder on a JC doesn't have to be on the apostate site to catch you. That would be hard unless you use your own name as your screen name. Usually the ones you talk to who are still drinking the koolaide about questions/ disbelief in WT or it's teachings rat you out and then JC is formed.

Does things like speculation on dates important for salvation? (that is wrong to do so) If Jesus did not know the date how would men know how to figure it out?
If that is true, then why does the WT point to dates that come and pass over and over again with no fufilled prophecy taking place? Remember dates predicting the end: 1874, 1875, 1914, 1915, 1920, 1975, ect? Why wouldn't god's only true conduit to mankind be able to know these things for certain before they put them in print? And yes they are in print, don't take others word for it, research it yourself. When I was in I was told that 1975 was never in print, but I found it twice with very little research.
Alltimejeff - Most leave because they discover over time that the dogma of the Governing Body is erroneous, and that they have covered up significant events in their history, both in doctrine and in the private lives of their leaders, in an attempt to trick people into coverting or staying.
Or maybe just the hipocracy and the self righteous attitudes of the "spiritual ones" in the congs.

If there is one thing worth campaigning for within the JW religion...
by Mickey mouse in...i think it's discouraging the practice of baptising minors.
jws love to say "we don't have infant baptism" but given the fact that many witness children are baptised in their early teens or before, they may as well be infants.
since this action opens them to possible alienation from their family (due to judicial action), i think this is the achilles heal for the wbts.. .

At least most who are baptized young wake up and leave when they are in a position to make an informed decision, usually at 18, the first chance they have to get out. The bad things are that they have to realize that they wasted years of their lives and will probably loose the right to communicate with their "friends" and "family" , if you can call ones who let a book publishing company make their decisions for them.

Is a Public Display of Rage, a D'fing Offense?
by jamiebowers inhttp://www.slate.com/id/2228410/.
cursing, then, is a sin among jehovah's witnesses, but it's a "nonjudicial" one-meaning it's not sufficiently grave to merit formal censure from witness elders and cannot lead to "disfellowshipping" (expulsion from the congregation).
infractions for which you might be disfellowshipped include abortion, sexual abuse, adultery, heresy, and murder.

Are the two sisters baptized? I know that their dad is way into it and uses all of his TV time to the fullest with the hats and shirts, but what of the girls?

"Hey mom, I'm home!"
by dissed ina jw called my wife to talk business yesterday, and voluntarily mentioned her son was living with them again.. now you have to understand, we have not associated with the jw's for 13 plus years.
so it took my wife by surprise that a jw, knowing our situation, would mention this.
but it gets better, there is more to this story.. she then volunteered, he's been living at home with them for over a year since.......bethel "re-assigned" him as she said sarcastically.. "how long was he at bethel?

Many of us have been there, throwing away the best part of our lives. The only good part of it is that maybe he and some in the cong will see the real spirit behind the wbts.

I doubt he is a dub while holding a cross, even if it is made of fluorescent bulbs. BIG no-no in dub land.
